Columbus, OH (April 12, 2021)
Franklin University, a leading educator of working adults, is pleased to announce the addition of its new DNP-Doctor of Nursing Practice program to its doctoral offerings. Helping meet the rising demand for nurse managers, nurse practitioners, nurse faculty and BSN graduates, the Doctor of Nursing (DNP) degree provides next-level credentials to help graduates revolutionize healthcare for the betterment of safe, efficient and high-value care.
Designed to help busy, leadership-driven registered nurses who hold an MSN or BSN to learn and practice to their highest level through flexible, online courses, the DNP includes customized areas of learning through the Leadership and the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) track, and the fast track BSN to DPN program.
Doctor of Nursing Practice - Leadership Track
The need for inclusive healthcare and quality improvement is constant. What isn’t constant is the best way to deliver it. Because healthcare delivery is ever-evolving, the profession needs high-caliber leaders to accelerate transformation. Students in the Leadership Track will learn and practice synthesizing research and information while applying it to healthcare systems and technology to improve quality, safety and outcomes.
Through Franklin’s DNP-Leadership track, students will further develop their executive capabilities in one of the following areas: healthcare administration, health informatics or public administration. Designed with the busy working student in mind, the online Doctor of Nursing Practice degree can be completed in as little as 2 years while juggling other responsibilities. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be prepared to hold positions as a Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, Nurse Team Leader, Informatics Nurse Specialist, Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), or Healthcare System Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Doctor of Nursing Practice – Family Nurse Practitioner Track
Family medicine needs more than caregivers, it needs leaders. Specifically, leaders who can translate community factors, social determinants and health risks into delivering the highest quality patient care. Franklin’s Doctor of Nursing Practice-Family Nurse Practitioner (DNP-FNP) track is designed to help advanced practice nurses who are committed to optimizing patient care through data, technology and other clinical and evidence-based practices. Students will gain the advanced knowledge and practical skills required to innovate, lead, and impact patient care and outcomes at the highest level. Designed for busy nurses, Franklin’s DNP-FNP track combines learning and practicum hours to accelerate the degree program providing the ability to complete the program in about 3 years.
Rooted in evidence- and systems-based quality improvement and clinical practice, application and translation, the DNP-FNP provides several distinct areas of study, including major area courses, project courses and concentrated Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) courses. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be prepared to excel as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator, or Nursing Practice Specialist.
BSN to DNP Program
As part of the flexibility of the online DNP, Franklin also offers busy working nurses an affordable, BSN to DNP program without the MSN requirement. Designed for busy, working nurses who hold a BSN, the Franklin BSN to DNP program is for those who ready to advance their understanding and application of evidence-based practice, quality improvement and data analytics to advance healthcare systems and clinical care.
With one of the most accelerated BSN to DNP programs available, students can quickly qualify for the DNP upon successfully complete two, MSN-focused bridge courses. Once enrolled, students can complete the DNP degree in only 3 or 4 years, thanks to practicum hours that are included within specific courses.
