Columbus, OH (August 13, 2021)
The Franklin University Leadership Center is pleased to announce this year’s Raymond E. Mason Jr. Leadership Symposium: “Re-Imagining Work.”
As the world readjusts from the pandemic, Franklin University Leadership Center’s Mason Symposium virtual event follows the same course; revamping itself to address the opportunities and challenges ahead for organizations, leaders and employees navigating changing expectations in the workplace.
Celebrating its 13th year, the Symposium is proud to bring together central Ohio leaders for a three-day (Sept. 14-16) virtual event dedicated to raising the level of leadership in business, government, education, and community organizations to meet the needs of new working environments.
Commencing this year’s “Re-imagining Work” virtual event is keynote speaker and founder, advisor, author and investor, Aaron Dignan. Following a decade of research, Aaron Dignan contends that organizations that prioritize adaptivity and autonomy over efficiency and control are at the forefront of the future of work. As the founder of The Ready, a global organizational transformation and coaching practice, he has helped well-known companies large and small adopt new forms of self-organization and dynamic teaming.
As the founder of Murmur, a SaaS startup that helps teams improve through the magic of working agreements, he is building a platform that will allow every team on the planet to define and share their ways of working. In addition, he is an active angel investor and helps build partnerships between the startups and end-ups he advises. He is also a co-founder of Responsive.org., and has served on advisory boards for GE, American Express, PepsiCo, and the Cooper Hewitt, as well as the board of directors for Smashburger.
Dignan is the author of two books, Game Frame and Brave New Work, as well as the co-host of the Brave New Work podcast.
Event Details
The Symposium kicks off Tuesday, Sept. 14, and runs through Thursday, Sept. 16, with sessions hosted 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. (EDT). Cost to attend: $50; Register a team of 10 or more, and receive an additional spot at no cost.
Each day’s agenda will include a plenary speaker, as well as multiple experts who will share their expertise on various leadership topics following the theme of “Re-imagining Work.”
Attend the 2021 Raymond E. Mason, Jr. Leadership Symposium and complete the three days dedicated to leadership with a renewed sense of personal and professional purpose, while “Re-Imagining Work.” To find more information or to register, click here: franklin.edu/leadership/mason-leadership-symposium.
Stay tuned to Franklin University Leadership Center’s Facebook (@FranklinULeadershipCenter) and registration page as the Symposium’s three-day expert speaker line-up continues to be released leading up to the main event!
About the Raymond E. Mason, Jr. Leadership Symposium
The Raymond E. Mason, Jr. Leadership Symposium was established in 2003 with the support of the Raymond E. Mason Foundation. Its namesake, Raymond E. Mason Jr., was a community philanthropist known respectfully as “the General” for his military service. After he graduated from The Ohio State University in 1941, Mason served in World War II in the European theater with the Fourth Armored Division of Gen. George S. Patton’s Third Army. Mason was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, as well as a number of other citations.
After serving his country, Mason served his community as well, devoting his efforts to helping to provide higher-education opportunities for young people in the Appalachian areas of Ohio and Kentucky. This commitment extended locally through his service as a past chairman of the Franklin University Board of Trustees and founder of the Ohio Historical Foundation. He served on the Columbus Symphony board of trustees and was a past president of the Central Ohio Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Mason founded the Columbus Truck and Equipment Co. in 1949.
